In this on-line presentation Dr Esterling considers the current legal frameworks at both the domestic and international level for the regulation of anthropogenic light pollution applicable to Aotearoa New Zealand in relation to Indigenous Peoples, and in particular the rights and obligations owed to Māori as the Indigenous Peoples of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Bio
Dr Shea Esterling Shea is a Senior Lecturer Above the Bar in the Faculty of Law at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She served as the Co-Chair for the American Society of International Law Rights of Indigenous Peoples Interest Group from 2021-24 and is the current Chair of the Cultural Heritage and the Arts Interest Group for the American Society of International Law.
